Retaining walls

A wall that holds, and gives you more usable yard

A retaining wall lives or dies on what you cannot see. On the Front Range, that means a solid base, the right block or boulders, and drainage behind the wall so water pressure and freeze and thaw do not push it over. We build every wall that way, then use it to turn a steep slope into flat, usable space.

Designed in 3D first

You see the wall height, the material, and the new level space in a realistic 3D design before we dig.

Built on a real base

Proper excavation, compacted base, and the right block or boulders so the wall holds its line for good.

Drainage done right

Gravel backfill and drain pipe behind the wall carry water away, so water pressure never pushes it over.

More usable yard

We turn a steep slope into flat, level space for a patio, a lawn, or planting beds you can actually use.

What we build

Block walls, boulder walls, and terraced yards

Whether you need one wall to hold a slope or a set of terraces to shape the whole yard, we design and build it as one project with one team.

  • Block retaining walls. Engineered block walls in the color and style that fit your home, built to hold back the slope.
  • Boulder walls. Natural boulder walls for a rugged Colorado look that fits foothills yards.
  • Terraces & level space. Stepped walls that carve a steep yard into flat, usable terraces for a lawn, beds, or a patio.
  • Steps, seating & drainage. Built-in steps, seating walls, and the drainage that keeps water and soil where they belong.

Questions

Retaining wall questions we hear a lot

How much does a retaining wall cost?
It depends on the height, the length, the material, and how much soil we move. Nobody can give you a real number from a web page. We design your wall, then put one honest written price in front of you.
Why do retaining walls fail?
Almost always because of poor drainage and a weak base. When water builds up behind a wall and cannot escape, the pressure pushes it out. We use gravel backfill, drain pipe, and a compacted base so water drains and the wall stays put.
Can a wall give me a flat, usable yard?
Yes. That is one of the best reasons to build one. We can hold back a slope with one wall or step the yard with terraces, turning a hillside into level space for a lawn, planting beds, or a patio.
Do you handle permits and HOA approvals?
Yes. Permits, planning, and HOA submittals are part of the job. Taller walls may need an engineer, and we handle that too, so the wall is approved and built to code.
